Facebook is rolling out some advanced location targeting features to both Power Editor and the ad create tool. Facebook advertisers can now target by address, living in, recent visit or travelling location.
Let’s check all the new features that Facebook updated in both Power Editor and the ad creation tool.
Target By Address
You can find this new option when selecting the geographic location of your audience.
We already can able to target our audience by country, state/province, city and zip. But this time Facebook updated a new feature to target around an address. Let’s look into the below screenshot..
You can target your audience around an address by 10 miles, 25 miles and 50 miles, as well as entering a custom number.
Exclude By Address
You can also find an update in address targeting with exclusion features.
For example, if you want to target people in the United States but want to exclude people around Wrigley Field in Chicago. That would be look like this…
Here, you can also exclude within different distances from that address.
Everyone In This Location
This one is pretty interesting among the other updates with drop-down feature. By default you are targeting “everyone in this location.” That includes both people who live or were recently in the targeted area.
People Who Live In This Location
This one is for those who want to target people who live permanently in a specific location and don’t want to reach anyone who is visiting or recently visited that area.
People Recently In This Location
Facebook collects your location data whether you share it or not. This new feature allows you to target people who recently visited your targeted location within the selected area.
People Traveling In This Location
This one seems to be the same as the above targeting feature “People recently in this location”, but not the same. The above one targets people whose most recent location is within the selected area, but the “People Travelling in this Location” will target people whose most recent location is within the selected area but whose home is more than 100 miles away.
Haha 🙂 This is what shows the difference between just visiting and travelling right? As per Facebook perspective, a travel means you should go away more than 100 miles not less than that 🙂
There are few bugs in these new updates as these are not updated worldwide yes and these are still in beta version. I’m getting errors when saving once I ended up with setting up all new features and it’s not saving properly. Finally it got worked after 3 times I have tried. Let’s hope these new updates will roll out without bugs by end of this week or early in the next week.
